Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is free to hold talks with other clubs after running down his contract in Italy with Liverpool and Manchester United among his suitors

Adrien Rabiot will hold talks with Liverpool and Manchester United in the coming days after leaving Juventus.

The Frenchman, 29, became a free agent at the start of the month after running down his contract at the Allianz Arena and will officially announce his departure from the Italian giants this week.

That decision is likely to lead to a number of top European clubs making their move - and the midfield maestro will explore a move to the Premier League amid interest from two of England's biggest clubs.

Rabiot intends to speak with all of his suitors as he weighs up his next move, as outlined by Football Italia, including Liverpool and United.

Rabiot is looking for a contract worth PS7.5m a year: a sum that may be too rich for clubs in Serie A. Juventus offered a base salary of PS5.8m in their final contract offer.

Rabiot has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years and Manchester United are long-term admirers of the midfielder.

Rabiot was in talks with the Red Devils when he was still on the books at Paris-Saint Germain before then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided against pushing ahead with a deal. And Rabiot was back on the club's radar following the appointment of Erik ten Hag, but again, a deal failed to materialise.

United are in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer and are believed to be pursuing Manuel Ugarte. However, the club have a limited transfer budget and as the close on Leny Yoro, will likely need to sell before being able to complete a deal for the Uruguay international - and the fact that they could land Rabiot without have to pay a transfer fee could appeal.

Manchester United landed Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna at the weekend and are also poised to complete the signing of Lille prodigy Yoro after persuading the coveted teenager to join them ahead of Real Madrid.
